Hamley is a long and lean 6-foot-1 170 pound infielder. He ran a 7.30 60 along with a 4.20 home-to-1B. Offensively- Hamley hits from an even and upright setup with his hands already loaded off the back shoulder with a 45 degree bat angle. Hands work back slightly and down to shoulder height during load, front foot/knee open slightly on the stride. Stays behind the ball with hands leading into the zone. Showed a compact stroke with line drive/groundball results. Could benefit from additional lower half aggression. Exit velocity was 85 MPH. Defensively- Hamley is calculated with his approach on forehands but when forced to move laterally he showed acceleration and covered ground in a hurry. Stays low into fielding position but tends to stand up through his throws, losing some momentum. Positional velocity peaked at 72 MPH. Body type and actions would possibly point to a move to the OF at the next level.
