Physical: Muscular, athletic 6-foot-2, 200lb frame that carries strength in the actions. Molloy College commit ran a 7.74 in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Powerful, even stance with a slight bend in the knees as the hands operated calmly at the shoulder. Utilized a directional lift and replace stride out towards the pitcher; even land and initiated through a quick, connected slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Was able to lift on pitches above the belt, producing hard barrels to the LCF side of the field (50% line drive rate, T93 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman). Good balance when hitting into a stiff, blocked off front side, properly sequencing and getting to extension creating doubles power when on time (320+ foot batted ball distance).
Defensively: The primary first baseman showcased ready footwork around the bag, moving around with moderate posture and some pace when fielding. Bent at the waist, using inside turns during double play feeds; got the ball in and out of his glove and released from a lower ¾ V-slot to the target (80 mph arm, accurate).
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the far left side of the rubber; got to a balanced stack with gradual tempo, finding the top and using drop/drive into footstrike. Repeated well from H ¾, entering the zone at 75-77 mph for strikes to all parts of the plate. Mixed a short 66-69 mph CB on an 11/5 tilt and then countered with a fading 67-69 mph CH at 9 inches of HM to the arm-side (via Trackman).
7/06/20
Physical: Large, physical 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with strength in the actions. 7.68 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, slightly open stance with minor bend in the knees as the hands rested on the shoulder facing over the back. Utilized a repeatable lift and replace stride to initiate a short and compact, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. The swing worked efficiently during batting practice spraying hard line drives to the pull-side gap and middle of the field while repeatedly getting high intent, calculated swings off in the box. Transferred the success over to game action where he recorded multiple hits and quality at bats in the box. Registered a max of 88 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball with a top distance of 306 feet during batting practice. Showed off a top of 21.30 mph hand speed according to Blast Motion which compared above average to his peers at the event.
Defensively: The primary first baseman featured adequate feel around the bag with ability to move well to the glove hand side towards the first base line. Played moderately low to the ground in the setup while fielding the ball off the left side of the body. Used inside footwork on double play turns as the arm worked through a high ¾ slot. 1B - 77 mph
