Physical: Wiry, flexible 5-foot-10, 150lb frame with efficient movements on the bump; recent UCONN commit.
Pitching: RHP - The righty operated from a multitude of slots with consistent pace during his outing; command from all three (H ¾, ¾, sidearm) and kept hitters in between-speeds and off balance. Maintained tempo through a balanced stack position and landed in-line working into a stiff front-side. Athleticism flashed at release, as the FB showed plenty of arm-side run at 85-88 mph (T2103rpms) and tunneled well off a sweeping 71-75 mph CB (manipulated shape from slot). Ability to attack both sides of the plate in any count with different looks on both pitches.
6/28/21
Physical: Lean, ultra-athletic 5-foot-10, 155lb frame with lots of feel for his body and projection left in the build; UCONN commit.
Pitching: RHP - Started tall off the middle of the rubber; featured above-average tempo in the delivery, getting to leg lift quickly at a higher, hip-coiled position before driving down the slope athletically with easy flexibility in the upper half. Good separation at foot strike, releasing from a repeatable H ¾ slot with ability to spin the baseball. Showed ability to change slots on all pitches, dropping down to a loose, side arm and lower ¾ slot that altered based on count, hitter, and feel. The FB ranged from 83-85 mph with big arm-side run at times (17 inches peak HM, 1840rpms AVG, 60% zone rate). Good leader to get ahead in the count, followed by a short 73-75 mph SL able to get over for strikes above 2000rpms. A tough 74-77 mph CH faded with sink away from LHH up to T22 inches of HM and 1676rpms of spin. Deceptive look, especially from down low and kept hitters off balance.
10/18/20
Physical: 5-foot-10, 145 pounds; lean, athletic build. 7.56 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Balanced stance with bend in the knees and hands starting up over back shouler; toe tap stride with fluid load of the hands. Aggressive lower half hitting into a stiff front side and stays behind the ball well with quick, flat path into the zone producing up to 21G's rotational acceleration and plus bat speed up to 72.9 mph per Blast motion. Consistent hard contact to the pull side with signs of more power to come; peak Trackman exit velocity of 90 MPH. Defensively: Walks into ready position; Athletic footwork playing low to the gound. Soft glove fielding the ball in front with smooth, clean transfers and the ability to make the play on the run with ease; moderate arm action to a 3/4 release. INF - 76 MPH. Pitching: Up tempo delivery with a high leg kick with a slight turn and the hands going back before breaking for added deception. Long, whippy arm action varying between a high and low 3/4 release. FB: Peak velo of 80 MPH, while sitting 78-80 MPH. Plays down in the zone with plus arm side run up to 21".sCB: Sharp with 11-5 shape; up to 9.9 " vertical drop and 9.2" horizontal break. SL: 63-64 MPH. Sharper tight break that tends to back up . CH: 63-65 MPH. Good sell with up to 9" of arm side fade.
2/19/20
Physical: 5-foot-8, 135-pounds. Wiry, athletic frame; 4.73 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Crouched stance with bent knees, an even base, uses a bat waggle and a toe tap/drag along with a small stride for timing Big, high effort swinger, swing works uphill throughout, great use of lower half, high two-handed finish. Hard contact to pull-side/up the middle. 83 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Starts and stays low on approach, uses a small hop for timing, clean footwork on approach, fields the ball slightly off-center and in the middle of his body, works ground up. Medium arm swing with a low 3/4 slot. INF - 77 MPH. Pitching: Steady pace, kicks leg straight out before bringing knee up high, back down and out landing with slight angle closed before a repeatable, balanced follow through. Long, arm swing with a whippy 3/4 release. FB: T80, 76-78 MPH. Arm side run. CB: 62-64 MPH. Locates in the zone with early, slurve break. CH: 60-62 MPH. Arm side sink.
