A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: 6-foot-6, 240 pounds; Broad shouldered, sturdy build. 7.96 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Extended take back of the hands with a toe-tap for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a late one hand finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 106 MPH via Trackman. Easily the most impressive round of the day, launching a few balls over the fence. Creates tremendous power to his pull side. A very loose swing path which will help create adjustability in the swing. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while playing low to the ground. Hands are off to the side with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot.INF - 87 MPH. OF - 91 MPH.
7/28/21
Physical: Hulking 6-foot-6, 240lb football player’s frame with strength exuding. 7.59 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Tall, narrow and open stance as the hands operated with calm rhythm on the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang and bow/arrow stretch type load to initiate the barrel through a slightly uphill path while hitting behind the baseball. Worked into a stiff front-side and turned over the rear hip creating space for longer arms to play through. Showed comfort on pitches thrown out over the plate for loud contact and lift to the pull-side of the field. Notched a near 340 foot batted ball distance at his peak (via Trackman) and a T100 mph bat-exit velocity. Posted a 36% line drive rate with some ability to hit for average too down the road.
Defensively: The first baseman bent down in the lower half, fielding softly at the point of attack with a smooth glove hand. Funneled inward cleanly and got rid from a fluid, H ¾ slot (85 mph arm). Handled himself with confidence and beat the ball to the spot consistently with early, active footwork.
Pitching: RHP - The righty setup off the middle/left side of the rubber with gradual pace in the delivery; found a balanced stack position at the waist, breaking the hands (hiding the ball) and releasing from a connected H ¾ slot on the front-side. The FB worked slightly downhill into the zone at 83-86 mph, mixing a leveraged low 70’s SL for strikeouts out of the same slot. Added a well separated 75-76 mpH CH that kept hitters off balance to arm-side.
6/30/21
Physical: Powerful, advanced 6-foot-6, 240lb frame with above-average strength. 7.87 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, narrow stance completely tall to start as the hands operated loosely on the shoulder. Utilized a gradual leg hang, controlling the forward move with stretch at footstrike, launching through a loud, slightly uphill path on the rear hip. Created tons of loft in the approach, matching pitch-plane early and driving the baseball for damage to the LCF gap (near 360 foot batted ball distance). Hit a few HR’s during batting practice, working up to a T97 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak with ability to hit for some average down the road (50% line drive rate). Mature hitter that swings hard, but is able to stay within himself in game action (easy middle of the order skillset).
Defensively: The first baseman demonstrated a lower posture around the bag with lengthy, adequate footwork and an early glove hand presentation at the fielding window. Corralled softly inward, using inside turns for double play feeds to the target (H ¾ slot, 85 mph arm).
Pitching: RHP - The big righty used gradual pace in the delivery, starting off the far tip of the left side of the rubber. Balanced stack position and separated cleanly at a H ¾ slot before creating some leverage down the slope. The FB landed at 82-84 mph for strikes, heavy into the zone and mixed a shorter, sharp 70-71 mph SL across the plate in advantage counts. A 75-76 mph CH tunneled well with some deception off the FB, killing spin.
7/22/20
Physical: Large and physical 6-foot-5, 245-pound football player frame with advanced strength in the lower half. 7.91 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Wide, open stance with a crouch in the knees with the hands loosely showing rhythm as they bounced lightly off of the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a controlled toe tap stride to initiate an efficient, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Made it look easy in the box using a powerful lower half to generate easy hand speed towards impact. Was repeatedly on time to the ball at the front of the plate yielding hard contact to all the LCF gap and an overall advanced feel for the barrel. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 95 mph according to Trackman Baseball while staying behind the baseball with consistency; demonstrated easy home run juice to the pull-side during batting practice.
Defensively: The primary first baseman displayed a solid feel around the bag with slow, methodical movements in either direction laterally. Arrived on time repeatedly to the baseball at the fielding window while approaching off of the middle of his body and was able to adjust on bad hops with a low to high setup. The arm was accurate and had life out of a high ¾ slot across the diamond. 1B - 80 mph
