Last Chance Preview (November 18, 2017)
Fitzgerald is a lean 6-foot- 155 pound RHP/2B.  He ran a 7.23 60. Offensively - Right handed hitter with a wide set; semi-flat bat angle and slight front toe turn which then triggers his load.  Relatively short into the zone but could be more explosive through his lower half; varied results with contact. Exit velocity was 74 MPH off a tee.  Defensively - Proper crossover footwork footwork at 3B, especially towards the foul line; played a little  upright in his stance instead of a traditional low to the ground corner setup. Infield arm strength was 74 MPH with a traditional infielder’s arm action. Pitching- Sets up on the 1st base side of the mound, strides direct and finishes in a good fielding position. Arm action is longer and loose, working through a ¾ arm slot. Fastball sat 72-74 MPH with command to both sides of the plate. Consistently down in the strike zone. Struggled with control of CB at 55-56 MPH; change up also stayed down in the zone at 66-67 MPH. Room for velocity gains with frame and ease of arm.
