Physical: 5-9, 162-pounds. Lean, athletic build. 7.93 runner in the 60; 4.51 home-to-1B. Offensively: LHH. Keeps bat high and bent flat, keeps knees slightly bent, small toe tap instead of leg kick, stays level with the plate Level swing through the zone, contact swing up the middle or pull side, long swing overall. Contact hitter up the middle. 70 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Footwork stays consistent when fielding, keeps body square when throwing, accurate throw. Long arm/over the top arm slot. OF - 72 MPH. Pitching: Fundamental, repeatable delivery; Small step into a high leg kick with slight coil before striding in line to a repeatable release and balanced flat back follow through. Long arm action, down and back out of the glove before getting up to a high 3/4 slot. FB: T71, 68-70 MPH. Commands in the zone with arm side tail. CB: 53-54 MPH. 1-7 shape with big, early break for strikes. CH: 62-63 MPH. Plays like the fastball with enough speed differential.
7/24/19
5-foot-8, 162 pound frame, square shoulders, with a wider back. Solid pitchers frame, durable with strength throughout. A two-way player, off the mound, simple delivery hands start and stay high, stays over the back side, has some lean and drift on separation creating a higher ¾ arm slot. Lead arm has some pull to it. The fastball was clocked at 70 mph, locating the 2-seamer in the bottom part of the zone. The breaking pitch has some tilt to it, clocked at 55-57 mph, needs more fastball hand speed. Pounded both pitches for strikes, worked quick had a clean outing. Could look to minimize the pull with lead arm, will help getting arm out and away from the frame. Offensively, hits from the left side, loose hands, tilted, flat bat starting on the back shoulder. The swing has a level path to the baseball, with some lift at the end. For timing uses a controlled smaller leg kick. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 77 mph, with a ton more in there as he physically matures and adds strength. Ran a 4.90 on a dig to first base. Defensively, threw 71 mph from the outfield, clean longer arm path, working from a higher slot. For the transfer used more of a shuffle of the feet. Look for him to bring value, being able to play multiple positions.
