A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 144lb frame with increased feel for his body/projection left. 7.13 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Crouched, even stance with the feet at shoulder-width as the hands showed calmly to start; utilized a quick toe-tap stride to initiate a slightly rotational swing through a flat path into the zone. Mostly pull-side approach during batting practice yielding hard contact at the front of the plate for line drives to RF (42% LD rate via Trackman). Stayed on the barrel with natural bat to ball skills and minimal swing/miss traits that carried over to game action. Top of the order profile running the bat-exit velocities into the low 90’s (T91 mph) and added a 315 foot batted ball distance (doubles power). Able to match pitch-plane out of the hand hinting at additional juice on the way.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder demonstrated a quick, twitchy first step in either direction, creating obvious range to his glove hand side with good angles on routes. Had a feel for pace, getting down over the toes and releasing immediately from a shorter H ¾ V-slot (75 mph arm, more available). Looked smooth on the run as well, throwing accurately across his body with a handle.

Physical: 5-foot-9, 133 pounds; lean, athletic build. 7.16 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Wide, balanced base sitting in the legs with a slight lean over the belt and hands start just above the shoulder; Gains some ground with a low loeg lift while hands load straight back. Aggressive lower half hitting into a stiff front side with Very quick into the zone (27 G's rotational acceleration) while getting on plane early and staying through the zone with an advanced on plane efficiency of 86% per Blast Motion. Solid line drives to all fields; peak Trackman exit velocity of 84 MPH. Defensively: Uses prep step; Active footwork consistently beating the ball to the spot and make the play on the run with ease. Fields the ball into the body a bit with a soft glove and clean transfers; Short arm action with the ability to vary release with the play. INF - 72 MPH.

Physical: 5-foot-9, 133 pounds; lean, compact frame. 7.41 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Balanced set up with some bend in the knees; small lift and replace leg lift. Average effort with quick to the ball, flat to point of contact while finishing uphill. Line drives up the middle and to the pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 84 MPH.
Defensively: Starts upright; controlled, consistent footwork on approach, glove works down up. Smooth hands, clean transfer; medium arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot.
2/15/20
Physical: 5-foot-8, 128-pounds. Wiry, athletic frame. Run: 7.42 runner in the 60. Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, knees bent and level hands, small leg kick to enter the hitting zone Line drive swing, flat, direct barrel path, finishes slightly uphill with a one-handed finish. Power: 82 MPH raw exit velocity. Line drives to the pull side. Defense: Deliberate, choppy footwork, fields the ball off center on his arm foot, shuffles feet before getting rid of the ball. Arm: Medium arm swing with a 3/4 slot. INF - 73 MPH.

Impressive performance for the 2022 graduate. At the plate, the left handed hitter displayed consistent hard contact to the middle of the field. Jackson has a short path to the baseball and stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively, the infielder displayed active footwork. Jackson gets himself in a good position before fielding the baseball. The 2022 graduate as solid all around actions and will be a player to follow as he continues to develop.
