Physical: 6-foot-0, 170 pounds; Slender, wiry build. 6.87 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a limited effort from the legs. Showed a short swing path with a high finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 73 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are out in front with a delay in transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. OF - 77 MPH.
6/28/21
Physical: Lean, twitchy 6-foot, 160lb frame with athleticism found in the movements. 6.86 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, bent stance at outside shoulder-width as the hands operated calmly up/down by the shoulder. Utilized a knee knock stride to initiate the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Easy line drive approach during batting practice, matching pitch-plane out of the hand with good barrel awareness. Worked his way up to an 86 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman) showing off singles power at the moment and a top of the order approach. Able to handle pitches on the inner half for base-hits and lifted pitches out over the plate (30% fly ball rate) during BP. More power coming as he keeps adding strength to the build.
Defensively: The primary outfielder featured natural reads in space. Drop-stepped confidently to go get the ball in game action and demonstrated early, attacking footwork down through the ball. Fielded loosely off his left side with a soft glove hand, exchanging and releasing at H ¾ slot (77 mph arm, moderate takeaway, CF projection).
2/14/20
Physical: 5-foot-10, 142-pounds. Long, lean frame with room to grow and add weight. Run: 7.66 runner in the 60. Athletic strides staying on a direct line. Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance with balanced lower half, hands start high in front of body; uses leg kick to gain ground while hands load down and back to strong launch position Barrel takes direct path to the ball leveling out just before contact, level through the zone with high 2 hand finish. Power: 66 MPH raw exit velocity. Consistent solid contact through the middle and pull side. Defense: OF: steps into a balanced set up, active foot work on approach, fields ball on outside of glove foot into a pro step. INF: Steps into set up for timing with active foot work into a consistent balance fielding position. Arm: OF/INF: Long arm swing into a 3/4 arm slot. INF - 65 MPH. OF - 68 MPH.
