Pelkey checks in at 5-foot-5, 145 pounds. Recorded a time of 4.71 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Has an upright stance that is closed off to pitcher. Hands are just below shoulder height with a bat wiggle. Has a straight forward stride that keeps his stance closed. Rotates hips hard to ball. Swing plane is only slightly uphill, creating a lot of line drive contact. Extension through ball. Had an exit velocity of 72 MPH from the tee. Defensively- Approaches ball quickly. Has a wide base with slight knee bend. Used a crossover in front and then step behind to start throws. Pitching- Begins on extreme third base side of rubber. Very small side step to allow left foot to pivot to rubber. Knee lift comes just above waist height as back turns to home. Stride leg swings toward plate and lands in line with plate. Arm stabs ground on backside and comes through at a low ¾ angle. Fastball was 66-68 MPH, with a curveball at 60-61 MPH and changeup at 64-65 MPH.
