A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Athletic, well-proportioned 5-foot-11, 175lb frame with some muscularity in the build. Two-way abilities and 7.22 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Even, shoulder-width stance with a slight bend in the knees as the hands operated slotted at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace, launching through a flat path into the hitting zone with a quick trigger. Able to find the barrel and match pitch-plane out of the hand with a smooth, medium intent swing. Notched a 60% fly ball rate with lift present in the approach to the pull-side gap and recorded a 354 foot batted ball distance at his peak for doubles power. A T91 mph bat-exit velocity was found when on-time with good rotational strength in the box.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured solid footwork, getting the hips around the baseball with trusted glove hand actions out in front. Medium/low pace and created momentum, exchanging smoothly and holding pace across the diamond at release from H ¾ (lower intent, medium arm-swing, 72 mph). Made plays all over the field and extended range with banana routes when needed.
Pitching: RHP - The righty was electric during game action, starting off the middle of the rubber using quick pace into the stack position (slight hip coil, medium height); athletic thrower that got down the slope efficiently, working on time to H ¾ slot at footstrike. Repeated well, landing the FB with life at 84-87 mph. Mixed a short, two-plane 74-77 mph CB with tight shape and T2352rpms for strikeouts in advantage counts, then added a 71-73 mph SL on a moderate, horizontal plane. Countered with a fading 78-80 mph split thrown with great sell at 1332rpms.
Pitching: High leg lift and coil to a tall stack before drifting down the mound while riding the back leg, quality hip-shoulder separation accelerating against a strong post leg. Short, whippy arm action through a natural 3/4 release.
FB: Life out of the hand with ride through the zone (Bauer Unit 26; 20" induced vertical break). SL: High spin (2463 RPM) 2-plane breaker with depth through the zone. CH: kills the spin with up to 16" arm side run
2/17/21
Physical: Strong and athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with good proportions. 7.30 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: Balanced, even stance with the hands starting high at the head position. Utilized a toe tap stride while holding medium-high posture at the land in order to initiate the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone inciting a mostly line drive approach at the plate; recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 88 mph per Trackman Baseball while keeping the ball off the ground extremely well throughout the round (12% groundball rate). Consistent bat speed present (70+ mph) with noticeable bat to ball skills (75% on-plane efficiency) leading to increased confidence during a strong session of batting practice. Worked the middle of the field with punch off the barrel and could lift (50% fly ball rate) to the pull-side if pitched belt high and over the plate.
Defensively: The shortstop featured smooth actions arriving with rhythm, on time to the fielding window while working up tempo on the approach. Good body positions getting downhill with the chest, accurate high ¾ arm-slot with ability to drop it down to a lower “v-slot” for pace (85 mph arm strength).
8/25/20
Physical: 5-foot-11, 150 pounds; skinny, lanky build. 7.56 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. High, pushed back hands from a slightly open stance with even weight on the lower half; weight moves forward in a big way and hands stay in place. Good, strong actions in the lower half creating hip-shoulder separation with long, armsy swing that is initiated from an arm bar. Pulled the ball well, bat wraps around the ball catching the outer half well; peak Trackman exit velocity of 89 MPH. Defensively: Low, athletic stance; moved very well to the ball, attacking it on the right side gaining a ton of ground for the throw. Fielded and funneled all while staying low to the ground with a seamless transfer; low 3/4 slot, very whippy actions. INF - 80 MPH. Pitching: Good pace in wind up, "tall and fall" back leg mechanics. short arm action, pulls from the pocket and keeps a bent elbow throughout. FB: T 81 MPH, 78-81 MPH. Displayed some good velocity in his bullpen along with good control to glove side. CB: 70-72 MPH. The curveball is a valuable pitch in his arsenal simply because it mirrors his fastball so closely until just before the plate.
