Physical: Strong, durable 6-foot, 225lb frame with power in the lower half. 7.86 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Upright, open stance as the barrel bounced with slight rhythm off the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride onto the toe, working down to the heel on-time with a slightly uphill, deep entering bat path into the hitting zone. Recorded a T92 mph bat-exit velocity en route to a 36% line drive rate (via Trackman) with some top hand accuracy in the swing. Stayed in the legs well with efficient separation when rotating, producing a near 330 foot batted ball distance at his peak for doubles juice to the pull-side (stiff front-side at impact).
Defensively: The first baseman moved around with average footwork, setting up at a higher postured position at the fielding window. A soft glove hand worked in by the body, exchanging to a lower ¾ slot on an accurate release to the plate (76 mph arm, some arm-side run).
2/18/21
Physical: Strong 6-foot, 210-pound frame with obvious power in the frame, feel for the lower half in the movements. 8.00 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH. Upright, balanced stance with a circular rhythm in the hands above the shoulder; utilized a short lift and replace stride with simplicity to the load phase allowing the bat head to play accurately through a slight uphill path into a high finish. Mostly RCF, pull-side approach with ability to stay on it and shoot it up the middle as well; strong top hand while hitting into a moderately stiff, adjustable front side. Recorded a 92 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball while notching a 27% hard hit rate and 317 foot batted ball distance. Room for more on those measurables in the near future with slightly more intent from the lower half, impressive batting practice round.
Defensively: The primary first baseman showcased adequate feel around the bag, moved with average range laterally, showing confidence in a soft glove hand out in front, fielded off the middle of his body from a medium postured position, funneled into the belt loop allowing for an accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond.
7/06/20
Physical: 6-foot-0, 210 pounds; strong, physical build. 8.06 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Upright stance with even feet and hands preloaded back with a little waggle; gains some gorund with a low lift and stride. Strong, balanced effort staying behind the ball with Slight uphill path with a 18degree attack angle and stays on plane through the zone at 68% efficiency. gap to gap approach with present juice to the pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 88 MPH. Defensively: Uses prep step; athletic footwork around the bag. fields the ball in the center of the body with seamless transfers; moderate arm action with a high 3/4 release. INF - 68 MPH.
2/29/20
Physical: 6-foot-1, 210-pounds. Strong, physical frame. 7.96 runner in the 60; 4.78 home-to-1B. Offensively: LHH. Balanced stance with an even base, hands start just above his shoulders with a level bat, hands work back on load along with a small leg kick for timing Barrel is fast and direct to the ball, swing plane is flat to the point of contact and finishes on an uphill plane. Lots of middle contact. 83 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Starts upright and uses a small prep hop for timing, gets low with the ball and fields it in the middle of his body, deliberate footwork. Long arm swing with a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 69 MPH.
