Holmes is a tall, thin prospect who uses his frame to his advantage. He uses a high leg kick to drive down the mound to throw his fastball at 76-79 mph. He throws both a 2-seam and 4-seam and they both show signs of good arm side run. On his curveball, he throws it at 66-69 mph and it breaks on an 11/5 plane. He also threw a 65 mph changeup. Holmes will see his velocity and stock on the mound increase as he continues to get stronger and mature. Two-way prospect. A righty swinger that starts in a balanced stance. Obvious physicality and projectability in the box. Uses a fluid load followed by a downhill stroke. Strength and bat speed are obvious through the zone. Ball jumps of the bat, easy gap pop with emerging power as he adds loft to stroke. Moves well in the outfield rounding off routes staying behind the baseball and fielding through it. Carries momentum into throws through a near 3/4 slot with some carry. Projects more as a corner outfield type, especially with increased arm strength. 60-yard dash: 7.58 Outfield Velocity: 79 Exit Velocity: 84
