Academy Tryouts (November 18, 2018)
Nagy stands at 6-foot-0, 150 pounds, a sturdy frame for projected growth. Offensively- Righty with wide stance. Bends at knees with toe lift to engage, minimal stride. Hands held at ear length but slightly drop and load backwards as he prepares to swing. Swing plane has a slight incline as barrel moves through the zone. Smooth finish with one arm extension. 82 MPH exit velocity, which is a 9 MPH gain from January. Defensively- Nice wide base, evenly distributed weight. Fields behind the ball with smooth ball to hand transition. Throws at a mid 3/4- arm slot with quick release. Throws 77 MPH across the diamond, which is an 11 MPH gain. With Nagy’s frame he has the potential to add physical gains over the long term.
