Axel Riess: OF/SS, (2024) Stuyvesant, NY. 6-foot-1, 180-pound strong athletic frame. Above average projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. (74.3 mph bat speed average). (22.2 mph hand speed average). Starts in a wide balanced stance with a tight compact load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was explosive, showed a loose level swing plane and good extension on his high finish. Was able to create tons of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Advanced from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 83 mph; has athletic smooth feet, soft hands, and a quick clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a long loose arm action.
