Comments
Fisher is an athletic/muscular 5-foot-10 175 pound catcher. He ran a personal best 7.03 60, an above average time for a backstop and noticeable improvement off his previous best of 7.50. Offensively- Fisher starts in a slightly open; spread stance with his hands pre-loaded off the back shoulder. Front arm can lock out some, creating some lift through the zone. Noticeably more pop in his bat then past events; drove balls during live action and grinded out some at-bats. Offensive game is starting to equal the strength of his defense. Exit velocity was 87 MPH; 1 MPH off his best in Feb. 2016. Defensively- Compact setup; stabs some while receiving but the idea is there. Suitable arm strength at 76 MPH (personal best is 79 MPH). Quick exchange of the feet; gains ground; throws stay online. Improved transfer between glove and hand will get back down to his standard sub 2.0 times (was 2.03 today).
Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Fisher is no stranger to the Prep Baseball Report, since our inception in NY (summer of 2014) he has attended seven events. One of the greatest parts of this profession is watching young players develop and improve. Fisher is no exception. Offensively - powerful approach with his weight slightly shifted to back-side, on the pitch he drops his back elbow to the slot, barrel flattens out early, level path with full extension through contact. Hands continue getting stronger as he has added nine-mph to his exit speed since his first event - now at 88 mph. Pretty aggressive swing with a shoulder high finish. Defensively - receives behind the plate in a deeper, wide stance. Takes pride in his catch-n-throw ability showing a clean, quick transfer, improving footwork, and an above average arm. Pop-times remain consistent around 2.0 but have seen him as low as the 1.91 with accuracy. Prospect to keep a close eye on from the greater Albany area.
Last Chance Preview (Nov 29, 2015)
Offensively- At the plate his setup is balanced, weight slightly shifted towards his backside. On the pitch he uses a back knee-lift, to a back leg load for momentum. Short path of the ball, barrel stays level through the hitting zone, long extension to a shoulder height finish, backside gets through the ball. Showing signs of bat speed improvement with an exit velocity of 86 mph. Defensively- he sets up in a deep crouch, knees inward. Glove hand drops as he receives from a wide frame. Very quick clean transfer, short arm action to the ear, above average arm strength with accuracy, releases from an over - the - top slot. A player that keeps improving the more we see him.
Border Battle (October 18, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds. He ran a 60 yard dash time of 7.75. Defensively – As a catcher he receives the ball smoothly and has quick hands. He gives the pitcher a nice open target. His footwork is very quick and throws with a clean, loose arm action. Has a quick release that leads to pop times being consistently at 1.91 down to second base. Has good mechanics blocking the ball, keeping it right in front. With accuracy and an arm strength of 79 mph he will continued to be a valued commodity. Offensively – At the plate his setup is very balanced, short leg kick stride, with hands near back shoulder. He back loads, hands get to the ball, swing plane is on an upward tilt and get long/full extension though the baseball, with a high finish. His exit velocity was 80 mph and has the ability to hit for power.
Eastern NY All-Star Game (September 13, 2015)

His throws were consistently on target to second base. He blocks the ball nicely and keeps everything in front of him. His pop times were consistently at 2.09 down to second base. Offensively - At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short leg kick stride, with a back load. His hands are very compact, swinging on a level plane with little upward tilt, good extension, with a shoulder finish through the ball.

Offensively- At the plate hands start near his shoulders, short stride on the pitch, back load creates arm bar. Cast his hands over the plate before contact, level bat plane, below his shoulders finish. Contact hitter.
