Winter Open (February 26, 2017)
Athletic build at 5-foot-7 160 pounds. The catcher ran a 8.02 and a 4.30 home-to-1B. Offensively- Sets up even with some pre-pitch bat waggle that coils behind the head late; uses a knee-to-knee leg kick getting back to original setup. Bat path is short but not always on time due to extra activity within his timing mechanisms (can be on time doing this, just needs to be consistent). Sprays the ball around; exit velocity peaked at 78 MPH. Defensively- Compact primary and secondary setups; exchanges feet but loses some ground as back foot does not get in front of left foot during pop step. Stays low and is short with arm action working through a high 3/4 slot. Throws were accurate and online in the 2.19-2.28 range with his arm strength up 68 MPH. Continued progression here will allow for him to be a steady defender.
Diamond Pro Workout (January 14, 2017)

Wallman stands at 5-foot-7 and weighs 160 pounds. He was timed at 4.3 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Starts with feet slightly wider than shoulders, knees bent, and hands above back shoulder. Bat has pronounced wiggle. Uses a leg kick that loads his body over his back leg. Front foot lands open when foot hits the ground. Weight transfers to middle of body before the swing becomes rotational. Hand path is inside the ball and swing plane is flat. Extension is cropped off early. Recorded exit velocity of 71 MPH off the tee. Bat does not fully finish through swing. Defensively- Sets up low in crouch with body turned slightly toward 1B. Lower half swings towards 3B on throws. Transfer is smooth and arm action is short. Pop times ranged between 2.12-2.28 seconds with a velocity of 58 MPH. Arm strength could be improved with better finish on throws. Proper technique and quick recovery actions on blocks.
