April 2018
6-foot-1, 185 pound OF/3B, Perry showed the versatility to play corner infield and outfield.  Against Niskayuna, made two nice catches in the outfield showing range to both the foul line and the gap with a strong arm.  At the plate, not seeing many pitches to hit as he has walked in 4 of 5 plate appearances when seen live in several games.

Campus Series-Albany (July 18, 2017)
Perry stands in at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds with a thick, strong, athletic frame. Offensively- Lefty sets up in an open stance with his feet shoulder width apart. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise in to stride forward while his hands move back into his hitting position. Good lower body rotation getting hips cleared and using whole body frame in swing process. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage and line drive ability to all fields during batting practice round. Shows potential with clean swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH, down 2 MPH from his previously best recorded mark of 83 MPH set in February 2017. Defensively- In the infield, shows a good approach and footwork towards the baseball. Fielding mechanics are clean with a quick funnel into the chest and appropriate transition into the throwing position. Has aggressive footwork towards intended target and made accurate throws. Moves well left/right and in on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity in the infield of 80 MPH, up 3 MPH from February 2017. From the outfield, moves well to the baseball with a good approach and footwork. Gets underneath and shows a good transition from catch to the throwing position gaining ground throughout the process of the throw. Was accurate and moves well left/right and on the run. Recorded a positional outfield arm velocity of 85 MPH, a 5 MPH increase from February 2017. Overall a talented 2018 collegiate prospect that is still available.

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound infielder, ran a 7.73/60. Offensively - effective load, keeps hands inside ball and bat on level path through the strike zone, full extension after contact with an exit velocity of 85 MPH; repeatable motion, some evidence of counter rotation between upper and lower torso, further lower body engagement will add to power. Defensively - basic footwork, sure hands, deliberate transfer, accurate arm with a velocity of 80 MPH.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Perry checks in at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Had a 60 yard dash time of 7.77 seconds, but was previously recorded at 7.10 in August 2016. Offensively- Begins with feet at shoulder width in an open and upright stance. Hands are close to body and at chest height. Uses a small back and forth leg kick as hands load backwards slightly. Hand path is direct to ball before extending through contact. Swing plane is slightly uphill. Small weight transfer forward before hips become rotational during swing. Has a two handed finish that comes just above front shoulder height. Had an exit velocity of 83 MPH off of the tee, matching his previous best. Defensively- In the infield, approaches the ball with smooth actions. Fields ball with feet wide and a slight bend at the knees. Fields ball well out in front of body and then funnels hands into midsection. Uses a double shuffle to generate momentum on throws. Had throws of 77 MPH across the diamond with a low ¾ arm slot. As an outfielder, fields ball outside of body. Uses a high crow hop with a slight delay to initiate throws. Had a throwing velocity of 80 MPH from the outfield.
NY All-Star Games (September 17, 2016)
Perry stands in at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a tall, lean, athletic build. Ran a 7.80 – 60, above his previous recorded best 7.10 at the ENY Prospect Preview in August 2016. Offensively- Lefty starts square to the pitcher with his feet outside his shoulders. Upright stance with weight evenly distributed. Hands just in front of back shoulder with little bat movement pre-pitch. On pitch his trigger is movement of his knee in towards his back leg before striding forward while his hands move back into a good hitting position. Hands are very quick to and through the hitting zone with a good bat path throughout to a shoulder level one handed finish. Good rotation on bottom half. Fluid swing with good body mechanics to get total body into swing. Line to Line results with some lifted line drive contact. Recorded an exit velocity of 80 MPH, just shy of his top velocity of 83 recorded at the Preseason All-State showcase in February 2016. Defensively- Gets behind the ball well in the outfield. Takes his time with crow hop and transition to throwing hand. Could be cleaned up with a more efficient crow hop gaining ground and a longer arm swing. In the infield, good movement and approach to baseball. Transition from glove to throwing hand is ok. Tends to tap ball back in the glove before release. Fields ball on the run well. Displayed a position arm velocity of 81 MPH.
ENY Prospect Preview (August 2, 2016)
Perry is an athletic 6-foot-1 175 pound OF/3B who ran an improved 7.10 60.  Offensively-  Sets up slightly open with a 45 degree bat angle; slight take back of the hands with an inward coil with front leg that gets him back to even. Stays behind the ball well; explodes through the zone; short swing path; middle of the field, line drive results with some gap potential. Good weight transfer with a late one hand finish. Exit velocity down some to 76 MPH but plays much better than that. Table setter approach with ability to drive in runs as well.  Defensively- Worked out at both the OF and 3B. On the infield; active feet; stays athletic; opens up with late angle; hands soft and out in front. Adequate transfer and arm strength at 77 MPH across the diamond. Actions would carry over to middle infield. In the outfield Perry is aggressive with his approach; gets vertical with his crow hop but late with transfer from glove to hand, creating a shorter arm path. Getting hands to separate earlier will allow for more of an arm swing and help improve carry. Up to 81 MPH on his throws. Versatile, multiple position ability.
Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Perry stands 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with a big strong frame. This 2018 corner guy swings it from the left side and showed tremendous upside. Ran a 7.30 60. Offensively- Sets up with a wide base and relaxed hands.  Loads back to front and gets a lot out of his lower half.  Bat path was direct and explosive.  Showed an 83-mph exit velocity.  Defensively- Works from the ground up and fields everything to the center of his body.  Threw it 78-mph across the diamond. Perry certainly shows projectability solid build, powerful lefty stroke and good arm strength. Likely a corner guy in either the infield or outfield, and a middle of the order power guy at the next level.

Capital Region Open (July 29, 2015)
Andrew stands 5-foot-11, 160-pounds with an athletic build. At the plate he hits from the left-side with a wide base, elbow high. On the pitch he uses a slight stride, back load. Short path to the ball, mostly level barrel through contact, short extension with a high athletic finish. Projectable bat. At the corner he stays behind the ball, footwork needs to smooth out some, glove is wide and open out in front, shows a clean transfer, throws from a few arm angles (71 mph) but mostly high-3/4. Overall intriguing corner defender who shows early signs of a next-level bat from the left-side.
