Alex stands at 5-foot-9, 150 pound SS/RHP. Alex ran a 4.62 home to 1B. Offensively- Alex starts in a narrow, upright setup. Creates separation with load and stride, dropping body position down. Exit velocity of 85 MPH; ground ball/line-drive results. Defensively- Alex displays smooth hands when receiving ground balls; sees the ball in; efficient footwork into his throws. Middle infield actions are there; shows athleticism; arm strength at 70 MPH. Pitching- On the hill, Alex starts on the far left side of the rubber, facing the plate at a 45 degree angle. Uses a mid chest leg drive with a slight coil. Arm action can be infield like at times with some hooking of the wrist. Arm slot for his FB is ¾; drops arm and serves CB at times. FB sat at 70-71 MPH; command will improve with experience. The curveball (60 MPH) is clearly his go to pitch; early break with late drop; sweeps 2-to-8 through the zone. Fastball development; lengthened arm action, along with a change up are all key items to look for down the road.
