A filled out 5-foot-11 210 pounds, he impressed as a position player and on the mound. Did not run 60 and home to 1B due to rehabbing a hamstring pull. Exit velocity was 92 MPH. Offensively: Hits from a slightly open stance, striding back to even. Quiet with hands during take back. Aggressive back foot and hip rotation. Covers the whole plate well. Short into zone with an occasional inside out swing. Ball explodes  off the bat. Improvement with his extension will allow for him to reach his ceiling in the power department. Defensively: Abel showed off a next level arm, peaking at 94 MPH with all other throws 88-92 MPH. Attending players and coaches were in awe as not only did his throws have an extra gear but were also on the bag. Sets up well behind the ball and uses a slight side shuffle with serviceable transfer into release. Prototypical next level right fielder. Pitching: Despite only throwing a few bullpens this fall Abel was able to run his fastball up to 90 MPH, sitting 86-88 MPH vs. live hitters. Showed decent command and was able to keep the ball down. Change up was a bit firm at 82-83 MPH but it also stayed down and on a level place (straight change). Lacks feel for breaking ball as only threw upon request. Work in progress on the mound, should be an interesting follow up come spring time.
