8/18/19

Uncommitted 6-foot-3 170. Rogers has a large projectable frame with long levers. He sets in the box with a significant crouch and tends to come out of his legs at contact. His ability to stay in his legs or move to a taller more leverage approach makes it easy to see future power. He took solid rounds of batting practice with consistent quality contact. He posted an 89 MPH exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, he has instincts for the first base position and provides a big target for fellow infielders.  He showed some nimbleness in his footwork around the base and feel for short/long hop picks. He had a solid arm, fielding the ball smoothly, making accurate throws. Rogers is a player to keep an eye on as he continues to add weight and strength to his frame.  He will be a nice addition for a program looking for future power and wiling to play the long game.
