10/21/18 - Lanky, 6-2, 170, Hires has wide square shoulders in a larger frame.  His frame will hold additional weight, profiling him at a corner, outfield or infield position.  He is a comfortable and capable corner outfielder with confident glove skills on groundballs as well as fly balls.  He throws with effort and strength, providing carry out of a ¾ to lower arm angle.  His footwork and rhythm on throws are playable with relative accuracy.  In the infield, the length of his actions require time which is better suited to a corner.  He can throw from multiple angles with serviceable arm strength provided time permits. Reaction positions, first and third base lend better to his talents. In the box, he employs a wide stance with a smooth easy load. Hires strides early to a stiff front leg, leaving him disconnected and him shouldering his naturally lofted swing.  A more fluid and connected swing accompanied by his size and strength could provide a potential middle of the order type bat.
