Nick has a powerful 5-foot-11 185 pound build with aggressive efforts. Pitching- Nick uses a deep side step with a 3/4 chest high leg drive. Covers a decent amount of ground with stride, landing on his heel. Works aggressively up and over front side with a high 3/4 arm slot. FB sat 83-84 MPH with some life up in the zone but also was able to pound the knees. 2S FB rode hard arm side. Slider/Slurve had some teeth to it at 68-70 MPH with some late action. Above average pitch. Change up was in a good range at 75-76 MPH but can slow his arm at times. Works hard on the bump with an upbeat tempo.

Trendler has smoothed out mechanically, incorporating more rhythm in his hands and keeping much better directionally. His fastball had much better angle and his fastball was very heavy. His velocity ranged between 82 and 84 miles-per-hour, topping out at 86.
Battle at the Border (October 18, 2015)
The right-hander's stuff wasn't nearly as crisp as I've seen it in the past; most likely due to difficult weather conditions. He has minimal rhythm with his hands until the bottom of his leg lift. He has poor direction, landing way across his body, which restricts his hips and ability to find a consistent release point. With improved direction, he should get better angle on his fastball and be able to firm up command. His fastball velocity was 76-80 miles-per-hour, breaking ball was sharp at times at 66-69 MPH and his changeup had fading life at 72-73.
September 26, 2015
Trendler has a stocky, strong frame. He pitches from a high ¾ arm slot with some elbow climb whip to it. His direction is off a bit due to the first movements of his lower half. He pitched at 79-82 miles-per-hour and showcased two different off speed pitches. His changeup was 74-76 MPH which is a bit hard. It did have some arm side run but he was deliberate with his motion when throwing it. His breaking ball is tight with two strikes and loosens up a bit when dropping it in for a strike. He threw this pitch 69-71 MPH with 11-to-5 shape.
