Physical: Stocky, well put together 5-foot-10, 185lb frame.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, even stance at shoulder-width, as the barrel rests on the shoulder to start. Utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat path towards a deep one-handed finish on the backside. Recorded heavy contact at the front of the plate and a T97 mph bat-exit velocity. Lived on the sweet spot with simple barrel control (63% rate) and stayed behind the ball in the approach.
Defensively: The middle infielder stalked the ball with an active lower half. A hop in the prep step gave him a quick first step and allowed for good angles to the ball. Funneled cleanly with a soft glove hand, releasing up to 86 mph from his position out of a H ¾ slot (high intent).
7/06/20
5-foot-9, 170-pound athletic frame. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.34. Started in a balanced crouched stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a small leg kick just before his swing. Bat speed is above average, exhibits simple flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found a couple of barrels during his round. Gap to gap approach. Tomasetto had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; has athletic feet, a clean exchange and sure hands. Used an-over-the-top slot and a compact arm action.
