There is a lot to like about Vigliotti's frame. Vigliotti showed much better bat control and feel for contact at the Underclass Games. He had a much better feel for how to utilize his lower half and used his hands more to show that he could use the middle of the field. He had better carry on his throws that, when mixed with his quick release, has OF projection. He looked more like an outfield prospect at this event.
NJ Open (August 5, 2015)
Vigliotti is a 6-foot-1, 170 pound outfield prospect from Lyndhurst High School. He has a slender build and broad shoulders capable of putting on good size. The left-handed hitter hit from a tall stance and high back elbow. He had good pre-pitch rhythm and used a leg kick and explosive load to get his hands into a hitting position which allowed for some whip of the bat. He has a good, smooth swing that works to his pull side, however, an unbalanced base doesn’t allow him to hit to all fields. Working to stay more balanced throughout his swing will improve his ability in the box quickly because he has working tools. Defensively, Vigliotti has good actions but needs to work on arm strength and speed in order to project at the next level in the outfield. Right now, Vigliotti projects as a 1B until he can get into the 7.0-7.1 60-yard dash range.
