Machado stands at 5-foot-9, 155-pounds. Has a real lean and athletic frame. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.94 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 75 MPH. Begins at the plate in an even and balanced stance. Knees are slightly inverted. Starts with his hands above shoulder height, near his head. Uses a small leg kick. During his load, hands move straight back with a slight bat inversion. Smooth weight transfer. High finish. Defensively, took reps as an infielder and recorded a velo of 69 MPH. Fielded the baseball under control with quick movements after he had the ball. Brought the ball to his midsection, made his transfer around chest height. Made throws across the diamond from a 3/4 arm slot. On the mound, Machado pitched exclusively from the stretch. Feet start even on the first base side of the rubber with back leg slightly preset. Smooth, compact delivery with consistent tempo. Lands slightly closed, creates deception throwing across his body. Fastball topped at 74 MPH and sat 72-74 MPH. FB was consistently at the bottom of the zone. Curveball was recorded at 62-64 MPH. CB showed big 11/5 shape with swing and miss potential out of the zone.
