2019 Preseason All State showcase

Penzone has a lean and athletic build at 5-foot-9, 150-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.75 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 80 MPH. From the left side, starts in a slightly open stance with his weight shifted onto his backside. Hands stay locked in position. High, hanging leg kick. Gets his bat on plane and is able to consistently hit line drives. Very similar from the right side, with a more aggressive lower half. Stays taller as well. Defensively, took reps from the infield and recorded a top velo of 77 MPH on his throws. Works to get feet open before fielding the ball. Takes choppy steps before fielding the ball to stay fluid through the play. Short arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot.

12.29.18 - 5-foot-9, 150-pound switch hitter showcased similar swings from both sides of the plate with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Utilizes a leg-hang stride from a square stance as a right-handed hitter with a middle of the field approach. Left-handed swing is a bit longer and the stride is shorter leading to a line drive, all fields approach. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 76 mph arm strength with fundamentally sound defensive skills best suited for second base.
