Calero is 6-feet tall, 188-pounds. Strong bodied corner infielder with pop and soft hands in the field. One of the top uncommitted 2017s. Right handed swing with balanced stance and approach. Hands start about even with back shoulder with back elbow extended. Stance is slightly opened to start. Uses small leg kick to initiate load and weight transfer. Small hand load, but hips twist explosively through to produce power. Line drive hitter with fast twitch movements. Fluid finish. Ran 60 in 7.73, Exit Velocity at 85.
Defensively - Plus defender for his age in the field. Is comfortable player both corner infield spots. Has smooth feet and is agile in the field for a bigger bodied player. Plays through throws, 83 mph across the infield.


Winter Trials North (December 6, 2015)

Calero is broad shouldered and strong; stands 6-foot-0, 188 pounds. The right-handed hitter has a relaxed, open stance and utilizes a leg kick stride. He loads his hands well and shows power potential in his strong, quick swing (91 MPH exit velocity). He gets good extension and can drive the ball over the wall, especially to his pull side. Defensively, he bends a little too much in the waist as opposed to in his legs. He flashes solid glove skills and works through his throws nicely. He has a quick arm that produced 82 MPH arm strength with more to come.
