4/23/16 - Chillari stands at 6-foot-1 210-pounds, possesses a proportionally strong body. Sittting at 86-87 for most of his outing on this day, Chillari’s fastball seems to appear to be faster than it is, judging on some of the swings he was getting. #8 LHP in PBR NJ’s rankings, and 34th overall, the Duke commit kept the GC hitters in check by mixing in a solid changeup as a tertiary pitch. Shows good baseball savvy by acknowledging that on this day he was not getting the break on his curveball and adjusting by making his changeup his out pitch for this outing. One his strikeouts was on three consecutive changeups with fastball spin and late arm side fade.
7-6-2018: 6-foot-2, 215 pound southpaw starter who throws from a arm slot with low effort. Deceptive. Mixed well with a lot of movement on all three of his pitches. Comes across his body and finishes upright through his release. Displayed average arm speed. Fastball came in at 86-88 mph with a good amount of arm side run. Threw a slider as his breaking ball, which had big sweeping action at 76-78 mph. Changuep was a plus pitch, looked the same out of the hand as the FB. Parachuted, with good depth. Had hitters off balance and threw it to both RH and LH hitters. Showed athleticism on the mound making a good play on a grounder hit back at him. Also sported a deceptive pick off move that froze a runner on first. Went six shutout innings, while only allowing one walk, four hits and striking out seven against the twenty four batters he faced.
