6-foot, 170-pound left-handed hitting catcher and third baseman. Ran a 4.44 down the line on his dig to first base. Threw 70 mph from behind the dish as the arm path is short and quick. The feet work well and the receiving has improved since we last saw him. Flashed a pop time of 2.06 during the defensive portion of the workout. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph, needs to get physically stronger. The set up is even in base, front foot slightly open. The front foot closes down and the hands work clean to the ball. The path is flat and simple, showed the ability to spread the field with the barrel. Much improved prospect since we last saw him.
Tee Exit Velocity- 84 mph
6-foot, 165-pound left-handed hitting catcher. Threw 72 mph from behind the dish. Pop time of 2.04, as the footwork and transfer need to continue to improve. The receiving is a work in progress, securing the catch and softening the glove will improve with maturation and practice. Ran a 4.52 down the line on his dig to first base. Bat had a tee exit velocity of 71 mph. Hits out of a open to close approach. The front foot closes down as he begins to load the hands. The hands work at the plate, front shoulder needs to stay on the ball longer as he comes off the ball prior to contact. I like the swing as its loose and the hands work properly. Solid player with a chance at the plate.
Tee Exit Velocity- 71 mph
Catching Velocity- 72 mph
Pop Time- 2.04
Left-handed hitting catcher who shows promise behind the dish. Pop time of 2.11, as the feet work well and the transfer can be cleaned up. Threw 65 mph from behind the dish as that will have to improve as he matures. The receiving is good now, continuing to work on a machine will help soften it up. Did a nice job in the game handling pitches. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 73 mph as he is thin now, and needs strength. Starts with a wide base and the bottom half is under control. The hands work clean and he maneuvers the barrel, added strength will be a huge bonus for him. Good follow as he goes through his high school years.
