6-foot, 175-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder. Defensively, he threw 76 mph across the diamond with accuracy. The glove is solid and his feet working through the ball can improve with proper prep steps. We have seen him a number of times and I can tell you he is improving immensely each year. Ran a 4.53 on his dig to first base. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 78 mph. The stance starts even and the front foot is open. The back elbow is high and there is length to the swing. Finish is done with a 1-handed approach. On the mound, the fastball touched 79 mph. The breaking ball is big at 67 mph and showed the makings of a changeup at 72 mph. The slot is above ¾, small pause at the top of the lift and a coil of the front hip. The direction of the front shoulder comes off track as he approaches the plate causing him to run away from his arm.

On the mound, showed a fastball of 72 mph. The breaking ball is big at 61 mph as it needs more hand speed to the pitch. The changeup is a work in progress, touching 65 mph. The delivery involves a standard leg lift with stiff shoulder posture. Pulls the shoulder posture off target and sometimes guides his arm through the throwing phase. Was 1.13 on a slide step to the plate. In time, I think the body will loosen when he throws as he shows better arm speed in the outfield. Threw 75 mph from the outfield with accuracy and had a good approach to the ball. A very solid athlete, he is reliable and gets off the ball well. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 81 mph. Hits out of an even footed set up and moves to the ball with the bottom half as the ball approaches. The path is flat to the zone. Ran a 4.57 on his dig to first base.
3/24/16
Athletic right-handed pitcher who showed a clean arm swing, repeatable delivery and control during his session. The path is short on the back side and he does not fully accelerate his arm when throwing. The spin pitch is 63 mph, wide with a big break to it. The changeup has arm-side run and touched 69 mph, could be a plus pitch down the road for him. The frame is good and he showed very good athleticism, carrying himself with swagger during the event.
