3/10/18

6-foot-3, 220-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and pitcher. On the mound, the arm is long and free on the back side. The lift is methodical and deliberate into foot strike. The slot is slightly above ¾ and the foot needs to be posted in front of the rubber, not on top of it. The tracking is done properly and he coils at the top of the lift as he goes to the plate. The fastball touched 77 mph. The spin pitch is 71 and good in shape, could be a nice pitch in the future. The knuckle ball is 70 mph. The changeup has the right action to it, 70 mph. Needs to keep consistent hand speed on his secondary pitches. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 80 mph. Starts with his feet wide and the bat has wrap to it prior to initiating the swing. The path is long and strong to the ball. Hands work clean with the bat. In the infield, the glove and feet need to continue to develop around the bag. Threw 74 mph across the diamond to third base.

INF Velocity- 74 mph

6/27/17

6-foot-3, 220-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. The glove is solid at the bag and he moves his feet appropriately over there. Threw 70 mph across the diamond as the arm swing needs to be loosened up. Ran a 4.79 down the line on his dig. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 88 mph. Hits out of a wide stance and there is movement to the ball with the bottom half as the ball approaches. The path to the ball is long and the barrel needs to be flattened in the hitting zone. He is big, left-handed and young so he is a definite follow in the coming years.

Tee Exit Velocity- 88 mph
INF Velocity- 70 mph
