Cape Cod: Has impressive tools, including raw power to all fields, and he’s a very good athlete, but he’s still working on putting it all together. He batted .207 this summer with 30 strikeouts in 87 at-bats and after arriving at NC State two years ago at shortstop, there are still questions about his eventual defensive home. There’s a reason he was a highly-touted recruit and a draft pick out of high school, though, and his stock could soar if he shows improvement during the 2024 season at Georgia Tech.

09.22.18

East Carolina commit.  Athletic frame with broad shoulders standing 6-foor-1, 160 pounds.  Plenty of room to continue to add strength to the frame.  Power potential with the bat as he continues to fill out.  Right handed hitter is tall, using a leg kick to load his weight.  Bat head works to a lagged position, generating advanced bat speed and whip through the zone.  Good barrel awareness.  Drove balls throughout BP to the pull side gap with back spin and carry.  In game lacked some of the barrel potential working to find his timing in the bat lag and leg kick.  On the infield, there is athleticism with soft hands and rhythm in the feet.  Works to funnel to the midsection with easy transitions to a long arm action.  Hips tend to work high through the catch.  Long arm action with average carry and accuracy.  Best home to first time turned in on the day was a 4.69.
