2020 Draft: High risk, high reward, power righty. Fastball could sit in the triple digit range, especially in the bullpen. More hits than innings pitched in his first three years, with an innings high of 37.1 in his SO year. Strikeouts hovered at the 1 per inning ratio into his Senior year. As a Senior, Brown worked 19 innings in the shortened season, lowering his hits per 9, giving up a total of 9 hits on the year. He did walk 18 while striking out 26. The risk is the command and consistent ability to miss bats. Control could tick up as Brown matures and has more feel for his arm speed. The reward is a top end fastball and hard downer breaking ball. The movement patterns and induced vertical breaks of the fastball and curveball compliment each other if Brown can command the fastball up in the zone. A team could easily justify taking Brown inside the top 5 rounds, receiving potential money saving value in a Senior. If he makes it to free agency, there will be teams battling to add a plus fastball.
