The redshirt sophomore put together a mostly under the radar redshirt freshman season in 2022 for the Bears with a team-leading .346 batting average, to go along with .443 OBP and 11 home runs. His top exit velo so far this spring is 109 mph which grades out as above average raw power. The left handed hitter sets up at the plate upright and relaxed from a slightly open base. There is some length to his swing and he works uphill at the plate with minimal weight transfer and a late load. On this look the fastball got on him quickly. Out of the box he runs below average down the line, but is above average underway. He’s also an average defender in center field for the Bears and his fringe-grade arm strength may best suit him to left field in pro ball. Currently, he remains a good bet to be selected in the middle rounds of Day Two this July.
Rising Hitters: The redshirt sophomore put together a high-level, yet under the radar sophomore season for the Bears with team-leading .346 batting average, to go along with .443 OBP and 11 home runs. The left handed leadoff hitter is also an above average runner and average defender in the outfield. His fringe-grade arm strength may best suit him to left field in pro ball, but he’ll patrol the big field once again for Mo State this spring. Currently, he slots into the mid Day Two draft bucket of potential prospects.
