Simon Yoakum: LHP/OF, (2022) Rolla, MO. 6-foot, 175-pound slim frame. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 87 mph. Begins in a crouched stance with a low load, then uses a leg kick to start his swing. Had above average bat speed, rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. Barreled up some balls during the round. Pull side approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 80 mph; has a clean exchange, sure hands and quick feet. From the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 80 mph; has a clean exchange, quick feet and sure hands. Used a low ¾ slot and a short arm action. Clocked a time of 7.56 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, showing good arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed athletic balance point and even shoulders. Lands square with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-78 mph; had a straight fastball that showed running action and commanded the zone. He has some action on his slider (66-68).
