2/21/16 - Hewlett is a 6-foot-1 200-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class from Rockhurst HS.  He ran a 4.58 home to first and has an exit velo of 87 mph. At the plate, thin and open stance, in-line stride with controlled leg kick, aggressive hands, quick bat speed, showed power to pull side, hands work inside ball staying on ball after contact.  On the infield, 74 mph positional velo at 1B, aggressive to ball, quick catch and throw, hands and feet work together, high three quarters release. On the mound, deliberate pace early, works to tall balance point, tucks, aggressive move down the mound. High three-quarters slot, some arm speed, some effort. Fastball 78-80 mph, worked down, some sink/cut. Controllable 12/6 breaking ball, some sharp, 64-67 mph. Change-up with cutting action, kept it down, 75-77 mph.

10/18/14 - Hewlett is a stocky 6-foot 180-pound right-right handed pitcher.  Hewlett worked his fastball at 71-75 mph, over-the-top release, throws with regular effort, curveball at 59-63 mph, 12-to-6 shape, gradual break, 68-71 mph change-up, slight arm side release, splitter at 72 mph, throws with smooth rhythm, average arm speed.

10/18/14 - Hewlett is a sturdy 6-foot 180 pound right handed hitting 1B.  During batting practice, 83 mph exit velo, power to pull gap, line drive approach, repeatable swing mechanics, 4.79 home-to-first. Defensively, 71 mph positional velo, high ¾ release, accurate throws, fluid footwork.
