McFarland is a long and lean 6-foot-1, 145-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. At the event he showed some foot speed for his size and ran a 7.12 second 60. At the plate, McFarland shows a projectable frame with room to grow, long limbs, starts in an upright stance, leg lift into load, slightly open stride, some feel for the barrel, during batting practice showed contact primarily to the middle of the field with occasional lift. In the outfield, attacks the baseball, clean transfers, works lower to the ground, over the top release, positional velo of 78 mph, fairly accurate with throws.
