His delivery is smooth and fluid, higher but controlled leg lift, tempo accelerates down the mound into an aggressive finish, high three-quarter release, quick and loose arm action. Fastball sits 82-83 mph, tops at 84 mph, thrown for strikes, curveball has a chance to be a plus pitch, 61-64 mph, thrown aggressively, sharp bite at times, 11-to-5 shape, changeup is thrown aggressively with intent, quality arm side run and fade.
Mitchell is a long and slender framed 6-foot-3, 187-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.47 second 60 and 4.76 home-to-first. At the plate, 81 mph exit velocity, starts with an open stance, pre-pitch rhythm with hands, longer in line stride, leverages front side, works inside the baseball, showed a middle approach during batting practice with fly ball and line drive contact to center field with some pop.
