6/13/17 - Jones is a 5-foot-11 170-pound left-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.29 laser timed 60 and a 4.56 home to first.  He has an exit velocity of 88 mph. At the plate, balanced stance, controlled stride with a smooth load, level path through the zone, in batting practice swing produced middle to pull side line drives.  On the infield, high over the top release, soft hands, stays under the ball with glove, fluid exchange with clean transfer, footwork creates momentum after the catch, 82 mph positional velo. On the mound, Jones has an athletic and smooth delivery, easy arm action, arm works, over the top release, in line stride down the mound, repeats, fastball  80-83 mph, some thrown on a downhill plane, slider has sharp 10-to-4 action, works the bottom of the zone, throws high number of strikes with both pitches.

2/17/17 - Grant Jones is a 5-foot-11 175-pound left-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 4.05 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts slightly open, toe tap to stride, quick bat speed, hits with leverage from back side, pull side power potential, body stays under control with aggressive swing and loose hands, hard middle to pull side contact during batting practice.  On the infield, 77 mph positional velo, over the top release, aggressive to the ball, athletic actions, quick transfer and throw, mostly accurate throws, some flashing carry.  On the mound, Jones has an up-tempo delivery, strike thrower with three pitches, comes from a high three quarters release, will drop to lower slot occasionally, hides ball well,  throws with some effort, fastball at 79-81 mph, some on a downhill plane, curveball has 10-to-4 action, sharp break at times, change up at 78 mph.
