Cody Pogue: 1B/3B, (2022) Bowling Green, MO. 5-foot-10, 150-pound lean frame. During batting practice, Pogues best exit velocity was 80 mph. Started in a crouched stance with a small load, then used a short stride to start his swing. Bat speed is average, displays rotational swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels during his round. Pull side approach. In the infield, had firm hands, choppy footwork and a fluid exchange. Had a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.49 at the event. On the mound, has a high ¾ arm angle with some arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed low balance point and even shoulders. Lands open with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 73-74 mph with a max of 76 mph. His curveball (59-59) has some action.
Pogue is a 5-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2022 class. At the event ran a 7.59 60 and posted an 84mph exit velocity. During batting practice, athletic set up, minimal head movement, small leg kick, line-drive approach, slightly uphill bat path, showed solid barrel awareness producing hard contact. On the infield, moves with tempo, clean transfers, quick three-quarter release, somewhat accurate throws, positional velocity of 75mph.
