Mooney is a 5-foot-7 160-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.03 60 and a 4.32 home to first.  He had an 89 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, closed set up, simple and compact swing, middle to oppo gap line drives, short stride, works inside the ball, repeats swing.  On the infield, aggressive to the ball with footwork, soft hands, quick transfer and throw, accurate throws with carry, made all plays cleanly, 81 mph positional velocity.

10/23/16 - Mooney is a 6-foot-1 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.28 60 and a 4.71 home-to-first.  He has a 78 mph exit velo. At the plate, simple and repeatable swing, smooth rhythm from a balanced set up, short stride, no wasted movement in  load, swing produced hard solid contact the middle of the field during batting practice.  On the infield, 70 mph positional velo, high three quarters arm slot, mostly accurate throw, quick feet with fluid exchange. On the mound, Mooney has an over the top release, loose arm action, drop and drive type delivery, works down the zone, fastball at 73-75 mph, 64-65 mph curveball, 11-to-5 action, pitched to contact and settled down as inning went along, high number of strikes later in outing.
