Braden Edgar: 1B/RHP, (2022) Wentzville Holt, MO. 5-foot-9, 180-pound sturdy frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 84 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a small load, then used a short stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed is average, uses short swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels during his round. Line drive approach. While in the infield, made throws up to 70 mph; shows choppy feet, a lengthy exchange and sure hands. Used a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. Recorded a 60 time of 7.78 at the event.
Edgar is a 5-9, 180-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2022 class. At the event, he ran 8.03 60 and posted a 76mph exit velocity. During batting practice, athletic stance with narrow base, quiet hands, minimal head movement, line-drive approach, showed some power to pull-side gap. On the infield, fields ball in athletic position, clean transfers, deliberate footwork positions body well on-line with target, somewhat accurate throws, positional velocity of 69mph. On the mound, Edgar shows a simple, consistent and repeatable delivery with minimal effort, controlled leg lift, strong glove side action, downhill, athletic finish, high three-quarter release. Fastball is 64-68 mph, arm side run, thrown for strikes, changeup is 63-65 mph, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 59-66 mph, gradual action, showed the ability to throw it for a strike.
