Owen Strey, 2026 SS (MN) Uncommited, A SS from Minnesota that may be unknown right now but soon to be well known as he continues to mature and get stronger. His ability to play up the middle was impressive as he rotuinely made proper decsions and read speed of the baseball at an advanded level. He showed he could range to the 6 hole and play on the run just as well as taking a precsice angle on a ball behind the 2nd base bag. His feet and hands work together and are always in sync along with a good internal clock and feel for the postion. As he continues to gain explosiveness and the arm ticks up, there should be no issue handling the SS postion at the next level given he already possess the insticts and feel. Offensivly, a RH swing that is built on a repeatble trigger that works perfectly with his stride, loose wrists and feel for the barrel. He showed the ability to take his walks and impact the baseball as he turned in multiple XBH’s. I watched him match plane of a up+out FB and pepper it to the RCF gap for a 3B, then front arm shrink and manipulate his path for a up+in FB for a loud 2B to LF. This is a intriguing follow in the Minnesota ‘26 class and will be exciting to watch him continue to get better.
