A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2019 class. Uses both an over the top slot and a sidearm slot. Fastball is mostly true from over the top with noticeable run from his sidearm slot. Fastball sat anywhere from 65-71 mph, in the 69-71 mph from over the top and 65-67 range from down low. Both slots generated gradual break on the breaking ball, with tighter action from sidearm. Impressively, he filled up the zone with all offerings even with varying slots. Stuff wise he looks to be more effective from the sidearm slot at this stage. At the plate the righty starts in an athletic setup. Goes with a leg kick for timing and energy. Swing has natural uphill tendencies with above average strength and bat speed. Doesn’t get cheated up there, swinging with intent. Does a nice job of creating early acceleration. Can get around the ball at times. Showed much more pop than frame would suggest, especially to pull side. In the outfield he uses short, choppy footwork to the baseball. Plays through well and transitions quickly into his cropwhop. Arm strength is his biggest area for improvement out there. In the infield he plays low with quick footwork. Ball skills are on par for class and glove plays on the move. Doesn’t have a big arm but makes up for it with very quick transfer. Made an outstanding, sliding play to his forehand side. Starts in a mid crouch behind the dish. Actions are quiet and under control as he gets out of his stance and into his exchange. Exchange skills are average at this stage. As arm adds strength he should see easy improvements in pop times.
60-yard dash: 7.47
Pop Times: 2.14-2.29
Catcher Velocity: 68
Infield Velocity: 67
Exit Velocity: 83
Rachfal has a 5-foot-7, 152-pound frame. Shows good weight transfer and gets to a wide base with good rhythm while using a flat swing. Had an exit velocity of 74 mph and ran a 4.89 home-to-1st. Behind the plate, he works his feet through the ball well and has a low, long transfer. His pop times were 2.18-2.24 and had a velocity of 66 mph to second base. On the infield, he takes good angles to ground balls and fields the ball out front while recording a velocity of 63 mph across the diamond.
