6-foot-1, 180 pound tall lanky athletic prospect. Good feel with his hands and feet in the outfield, long arm action throw 77 mph from the outfield. Ran a 4.08 home to 1st. Pull approach with good extension, quite load and stride. Bat speed was registered at 83 mph.
6.25.13 This is the second time we have seen McAnallen and he seemed bigger this time. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound righty has more room to grow and is going to be a later bloomer. Should see velocity climb later in career. Fastball sat between 78-80mph with a lot at 80mph. Has some cut to fastball at times from high ¾ slot. Breaking ball has downer ation with sharper 12/6 shape (62-63mph). Change threw for strikes 69-75mph with some armside run. Needs more time to develop but should continue to climb. The frame and makeup all project well.
2/9/13 Parker McAnallen is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound righty with good feel for three pitches. He has a long arm action and accelerates through his delivery occasionally leading to some head snap at the end. His breaking ball has a 12-6 break and is an overall solid pitch. The change is simliar in that he throws it for strikes and seems to command it well. It too has good action through the zone.
Although McAnallen worked out in the infield as well, we project him to be a pitcher at the next level. He ran a 7.5 60 and was 74 across the infield. He did show some juice in the bat with an 84mph exit velocity.
