6-foot, 170 pound athletic two way prospect shows the ability to play both ways. On the mound works at an upbeat pace throwing from a 3/4 arm arm with a fast arm. Fastball sat 83-86 mph with late tail. Short arm action on the curve 66-68 mph showing a sweeping action. Change up showed sink 78-79 mph.
McCarthy is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound two-way prospect. Hits from a wide, crouched stance and has a lot of bat movement with his load. Shows some weight transfer as he gets the barrel through the zone. Had an exit velocity of 81 mph and he ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Fields the ball in an upright position and will need to bend with his legs more but he does well with creating momentum towards his target. Had a position velocity of 72 mph across the diamond. On the mound, he turns his body to show his number to the hitter and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. His fastball sat 72-75 mph with some downhill plane and occasional run. His curveball showed 11/5 shape while sitting 56-61 mph.
