6/24/2014 6-foot-5, 180 pound physically strong prospect. Locates all three pitches well, throws across body. Fastball sits 80-83 mph keeping down in the strike-zone well. Curveball has 12/6 tilt at 66-69 mph and change-up is 77-79 mph. Good hands with a strong arm at third base, threw 81 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.61 home to 1^st. Can hit to all fields well with a line drive approach, over rotates lower half at times. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.  

9/29/13 Wheatley is getting stronger with time.  The 6-foot-5, 170-pound lefty has plenty of upside.  Should see velocity make jump over the next year.  78-80mph on this day.  Easy arm action.  Down in the zone.  Breaking ball at 71mph.  Good feel for change (74mph).  Makings of being a late bloomer to pop onto the scene. Also performed at first base. Showed natural instincts at first.  Athletic.  Soft hands.  Accurate throws. Long levers at the plate. Smooth simple load.  Hands worked well. More power should come with added strength.

7/23/13 6-foot-5, 170-pound lefty.  Long levers with good arm action. Loose arm Sat primarily between 78-79mph.  Velocity is going to come.  Smooth delivery.  Secondary stuff was solid. Change was better than the breaking ball on this day.  Kept arm speed up.  Slider was a bit flat but easily correctable.  Definite follow.
