Morin, a 5’10, 172lbs C/SS for the South Oakland A’s program had one of the better overall weeks in Florida will a lot of base hits to all parts of the field. At the plate the swing is simple but efficient with not too many moving parts. The hands work well with the swing as it was hard for pitchers to get Morin out all week. Behind the plate the arm stood out big time as it was one of the strongest arms we saw, the transfer was short and quick and the footwork looked smooth. Definitely one of the more interesting uncommitted players left on the board for the class of 2022.
8/19/20
5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.01. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled smooth load, then uses a small leg kick before his swing. Has short level swing plane and quick bat speed. He barreled up lots of balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Morin had a max exit velocity of 84 mph. His best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 77 mph; shows a clean quick exchange, smooth feet and consistent hands. Quiet setup with above average flexibility. In the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 83 mph; had a fluid exchange and quick footwork. Behind the plate, produced pop times of 2.04-2.22. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a ¾ slot with a quick arm action.
