A projectable 6-foot-2, 180-pound athletic frame, McDonald showed well in his start Saturday afternoon. The right-hander ended the game throwing five innings allowing one earned run, two hits, and three walks while striking out six. McDonald’s fastball was sitting 73-75 mph and the curveball was sitting 64-67 mph. On the mound the righty was extremely athletic and loose. McDonald has a fluid motion that is followed by a quick and loose arm. The curveball was spun well and landed constantly for strikes, setting up a firm fastball that froze hitters and led to soft contact. As McDonald continues to grow and fill out his frame, he will be a name to keep an eye on for the 2027 class.
