Making his first appearance in the GPSL, the athletic 6-foot, 180-pound right-hander showed low-spin and tough to hit stuff across the board. With a quick arm and the ball coming out of his sleeve for good deception, he ran his fastball up to 93 mph with spin rates in the 1775-1950 range. His best pitch was a plus split-grip changeup, tumbling at the plate with an 1100 spin rate. He also mixed in a spiked slider with hard bite in the low-80s.

Hildebrand has a projectable 6-foot, 160-pound frame. On the mound, he throws from a high-3/4 arm slot with a short arm action and quick arm speed. His fastball sat 80-84 mph with late sinking action. His curveball had 10/4 action that had gradual break as he slowed his arm speed down sitting 61-64 mph. His changeup sat 68-69 mph with occasional sinking action. He releases the ball from his ear and has a controlled tempo on the mound. His offspeed pitches will continue to improve as he learns to throw them with fastball arm speed.
